SMALL WEDDINGS ARE OKAY!! There, I said it. BAM. Elopements and micro weddings are becoming exceedingly popular with the prices of weddings going waayyy up and young couples realizing that their money may be better spent doing things that they truly love on their wedding day. I think now more than ever we should embrace the opportunities to travel the world, and why not do it while literally professing your love to your partner?!
Think about what is most important to both of you for your wedding! I love weddings, ALL weddings, I am obsessed with all love, but that means that I want ALL of my couples to be the happiest they have ever been on their wedding day, and today’s blog is about letting the couples who don’t fit the usual mold, that it’s OKAY to have the wedding you want, and it’s completely possible to get married alone or with a small group, on a mountain, on a beach or in the forest where ever you want!
In the past eloping was seen as a way to escape a disapproving family or situation. But in modern day, elopements have turned into so much more! It is a day where couples can say, “Hey, you know what, we want our day to be completely focused on us and our love, and we want to say our vows to each other privately in an extremely small ceremony.”
This one is for the people that are so excited to marry their partner, because bonding together forever just seems like the perfect next adventure in life. But the thought of planning a wedding in a hall, or at a venue seems daunting and just…not right. You don’t want to deal with catering for hundreds of people and you don’t want to spend 8 months wrangling 10 different vendors, or it could be for the people who don’t have a lot of family, who live a more quiet life than most and want their wedding to reflect that. I guess I am writing this to let all the people out there struggling to find a way to better show your love for each other, I have your answer!!! Here are a few things that you can ask yourself to see if eloping is right for you!
Think about what is most important to both of you for your wedding

Do you see yourselves alone, just the two of you?
Or would you like some close friends and family present? (All of these options are doable for an elopement!) -
What spaces do you love, or where will make you feel most alive?
Do you see yourselves looking off a cliff towards a mountain range? Do you want to be surrounded by nature, water, sky? Do you want to say “I do” in your hometown, or do you want to travel somewhere a little more exciting?
Finding what feels right to BOTH of you is the most important part of this process.
3. Are you a little more excited to plan the honeymoon than the wedding? Do you want your honeymoon budget to be higher than your wedding budget?
Are you starting to think, HECK YES, this is me and my partner, we are down for an adventure! … But where do you start? How do you truly find that most amazing place?!
