Planning your elopement doesn’t have to mean hiking 10 hours into the wilderness or fighting for a photo spot with 12 other brides (unless you want to, and then hell yeah, I’ll pack snacks). But ultimately I think we all want quiet moments taking in the nature and each other on our elopement days and in that case, I have compiled a wee list of amazing places in Ontario that I dont think get enough love!
I’m Kate—your all-in-one elopement photographer and planner—and I specialize in helping you skip the big wedding chaos and create a day that feels like you. Here are some underrated, wildly beautiful elopement locations across Ontario—plus a peek at what your day could actually look like there.

This one’s a true hidden gem—it’s rugged, raw, and one of the largest and least developed parks in Southern Ontario. No designated campsites, no big signs—just forest, wetlands, rivers, and lakes for days.
Your elopement here could look like a hike-in adventure to a quiet rocky outcrop, handwritten vows by the water, and a slow paddle back as the sun sets. Think unplugged, intimate, and absolutely wild in the best way.
📍 Bonus: The nearby town of Minden has some cute little spots for post-ceremony eats, or you could end the day back at a cozy cabin nearby for a just-us celebration under the stars.
Distance from:
• Right in Toronto
• Ottawa – 4.5 hrs
• Windsor – 3.5 hrs
Nature and city all in one? Yes please. Evergreen Brick Works is tucked into the Don Valley and has everything: graffiti walls, trails, a market space, and industrial-meets-nature vibes.
Perfect for couples who want something different but don’t want to leave the city. Your day could look like an early ceremony in the forest, champagne toast under the trees, and rooftop cocktails downtown at golden hour. It’s giving “urban elopement with soul.”
Distance from:
• Toronto – 4 hrs
• Ottawa – 5 hrs
• Windsor – 7.5 hrs
Tucked between lakes and ridges, Restoule is perfect for couples who want that secluded, peaceful wilderness vibe without heading way into the backcountry.
Start your day in a cozy lakeside cabin, paddle out in a canoe for a private first look, and hike up to the Stormy Lake Bluffs for an epic ceremony spot overlooking the forest. Afterward, celebrate by the campfire with champagne and s’mores. Pure magic.

Mazinaw Rock rises dramatically out of the lake and features ancient Indigenous pictographs—sacred, powerful, and totally awe-inspiring. I dont know why more people arent screaming about Bon Echo, its such a gorgeous park!
Elopements here can look like a quiet paddle across the water, ceremony by the cliffside, and exploring hidden beaches and trails after. The nearby town of Cloyne has a few rustic gems for a celebratory meal, or make it a full weekend and go full unplugged.
Raw, untamed, and wildly romantic.

• Toronto – 10 hrs
• Ottawa – 11 hrs
• Windsor – 9 hrs
Lake Superior isn’t just a lake—it’s an ocean in disguise. This park is pure northern Ontario magic: rugged cliffs, ancient pictographs, endless pine forest, and a horizon that feels like it swallows the sky. It’s quiet. Vast. Deeply grounding.
Your elopement day could include a morning hike along the Coastal Trail, vows with Superior crashing behind you, then a driftwood bonfire dinner on the beach as the sun sinks into the lake. You’ll feel like the only two people in the world—because out here, you pretty much are.
📍 Bonus: Agawa Bay has some of the best beaches in the province (yes, beaches!) and starry skies that go off.
