Are you considering eloping instead of having a traditional wedding? If so, you're not alone! More and more couples are choosing to elope, and for good reason. In this blog post, we'll explore some of the benefits of eloping and why it may be a better option for you than a traditional wedding.
First and foremost, eloping allows you to have a more intimate and personal ceremony. Instead of being surrounded by hundreds of guests, you and your partner can exchange your vows in a small, intimate setting, with only your closest friends and family present. This makes your ceremony so much more intimate and allows you to avoid that "stage fright" that some couples complain about when saying their vows in front of a large crowd of friends, acquaintances and dates of guests, some of whom they have never met before! When you are planning a large wedding in your hometown, you have to think about venue size and how many people will come and the list can get really big, really fast, because everyone you know will want to come and see you tie the knot! Planning your elopement in a place that is a long drive, or plane ride away, you not only get to make your ceremony that much more epic, you avoid having to explain why you aren't inviting your sisters college roommate... because I doubt they will want to spend money to fly to a remote location just for your ceremony! And honestly, if money is tight for your family members that you want present, you can likely fly them out with you and still pay less than you would on a large traditional wedding. You can pick a location that is meaningful to the two of you, like your first vacation together OR you can pick a place that you have been dying to go to and create a new memory in that location, a new start, a new location, both options provide the perfect backdrop for stunning elopement photos... because the location will mean something to YOU.








Another benefit of eloping is that it allows you to spend more time with your partner on your special day. Instead of rushing from one wedding event to another, you can savour every moment and truly enjoy each other's company. A slow morning with coffee overlooking the ocean, sleep in and do a little hike to a mountaintop sunset ceremony, you really have control of your entire day!  You can grab ice cream at the local shop for dessert, make s'mores over a fire, or end your night with a swim. The possibilities are truly ENDLESS. 










In addition to all of these benefits, eloping can also be more cost-effective than a traditional wedding. Honestly sometimes large weddings make me want to yell " IN THIS ECONOMY?!? " Lol. With a smaller guest list and no need for a reception venue, catering, or other expensive wedding services, you can save money and put it towards your married life and all of the insane expenses that just living brings these days!  We are living in a time where the world is at our fingertips and travel is more wide spread than ever, and even if you choose to elope close to home to really maximize on savings, we can plan your entire elopement right on your phone for a fraction of the cost and an even smaller fraction of the headache of planning a large traditional wedding! But my thought is... why not use your elopement as an excuse to have an epic honeymoon and wedding for the cost of the honeymoon! Now thats what I call two birds, one stone!
